| KBC to Host Training for Church Planters |

LOUISVILLE – Those involved or interested in starting new churches can benefit from the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Basic Training for Church Planters, Oct. 10-12.
Sponsored by the KBC and the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board, the training will take place at the Kentucky Baptist Building at 13420 Eastpoint Centre Drive, Louisville.
Attendees will gain basic skills and explore strategic issues of the church planting process. Attendees will also learn how to begin a church planting plan customized to fit their needs.
KBC staff will lead the event, representing the KBC’s Evangelism Growth Team, Church Development Team, Missions Growth Team and Leadership Development Team:
- Larry Baker, director, new work and associational missions department
- Alan Witham, Church Development Team leader
- Steve Rice, director, discipleship and assimilation department
- Darryl Wilson, director, Sunday school department
- Ross Bauscher, Evangelism Growth Team leader
- Randy Jones, Mission Growth Team leader
- Don Spencer, financial support specialist
- Eric Allen, director, mission service and ministries department
Discussion topics will include vision, master plan, leadership development, core groups, administrative issues, mileposts, and more.
The event is open to church planting teams, church planters and their spouses, sponsoring or partnering church leadership, and anyone considering church planting.
Basic Training for Church Planters will run from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 10-11, and 9 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The cost to attend is $30 per person with a maximum of $120 per team by Sept. 30, and $35 per person with a maximum of $180 per team after Sept. 30. Registration deadline is Oct. 9.
