Each year the entire Southern Baptist Convention participates in a process of gathering data on the work and ministries of each church known as the Annual Church Profile (ACP).
The Kentucky Baptist Convention contributes to the process by creating and sending a set of data collection forms for each congregation to the local association office. The association distributes the forms to each of its member congregations. These church packets contain the forms and directions to help identify and clarify each part of the information requested.
Each church is asked to report statistical information about its major program and ministry areas. Membership count, baptisms and new members, Bible study enrollment and attendance, music ministry participation, discipleship training attendance, missions program participation and basic financial information.
After entering the requested information the church is asked to return the finished packet to the association office where information may be collected by the association. When finished the association is asked to return the packets to the Kentucky Baptist Convention to be processed. Once the information is processed a copy is forwarded to the Southern Baptist Convention to help in their work.
At times the process seems overwhelming but with the cooperation of each part, the work is accomplished and the information needed to be a useful part of God’s work is collected and distributed.
