| Kentucky Baptist Wind Orchestra |
The Kentucky Baptist Wind Orchestra is comprised of ministers of music and instrumentalists from Kentucky Baptist churches. This group was organized to promote and model the use of instrumental music in the local church. The ensemble rehearses and performs in confunction with the Kentucky Baptist Chorale, and plays several dates throughout the year.
The Instrumental Workshop focuses on instrumentalists by providing an opportunity to rehearse and play with a mass church orchestra made up of musicians from across Kentucky and led by an outstanding leader in the area of instrumental church music. Directors will be exposed to new literature and rehearsal techniques for instrumental groups. The event will conclude with a concert presented by the workshop orchestra. Those who participate in this event will have the opportunity to perform with the Workshop Orchestra for a Spring and Fall Concert to be held on a Sunday evening in a local church.
| Kentucky Baptist State Handbell Ring and Share |
The Kentucky Baptist Handbell Ring and Share is an informal opportunity for your handbell choir to fellowship and share with other handbell choirs from around the state. The day's events include mass ringing, individual groups ringing without adjudication, and a closing worship experience.
Keyboard Festivals, held every other year, provide opportunities for children and youth to express their faith through playing hymns, standard literature and service music. Participants play in categories designed for varying levels of musical development. Adjudication fosters self-esteerm, encouragement and learning in a supportive environment. Advanced categories provide proficiencies in sight-reading, accompanying, score-reading, modulation and transposition. While most student participants are pianists, young organists are especially encouraged to attend. Festivals are held on several days at locations spread across the state.
| All-State Youth Orchestra |
The orchestra is a forty-piece auditioned group of high school instumentalists from across the state. The orchestra goes on a retreat and tour each summer with the All-State Youth Choir, under the direction of a distinguished guest conductor. High school students who have completed grades 9 - 12 and are active members of a Kentucky Baptist Convention church are eligible to audition. Youth who are selected and participate do not have to re-audition each year, as long as they remain a member in good standing.
