“Building on the Foundation of Christ…” (1 Corinthians 3:10-11)
Coordinator: Coy Webb, Baptist Men on Mission Associate, 502-489-3401, coy.webb@kybaptist.org
Mission Statement: The purpose of Kentucky Baptist Builders is to be a spirit-led partner with local Baptist churches and associations by providing resources with integrity through volunteerism that enables churches and associations to fulfill their God-given vision and to assist them in accomplishing what they could not do alone.
The Kentucky Baptist Convention through the Baptist Men on Mission Team seeks to help churches and associations to be able to fulfill their God-given vision in building new churches and/or in expanding existing churches for kingdom growth.
This program seeks to provide consultation to churches as they explore the possibility of building, and to determine if using volunteers is a viable option in the building process. The Baptist Builders Program is often able to save churches a significant amount in the building process.

Bro. Chester Shartzer , Pastor of Clearview Baptist Church:
"We want to say a special thanks to Baptist Builders for your help in the building of our new church.
With the guidance of Bro. John Edwards, we were able to build our church for half the cost it would have been under contract. You were such a great help and we are so proud to have such an organization in Southern Baptist life. Please continue to be the instrument in God's hands that you were the day you came to our door."
Jimmy Closterman, Pastor of Faith Decision Baptist Church, Paint Lick:
"Baptist Builders is a network of volunteers that has changed the ministry of our church. In 2006 we were introduced to Baptist Builders and have received many blessings since.
We have witnessed the move of God in constructing an entirely new church. With the help of Baptist Builders we erected almost 17,000 square feet of space used for the worship of our Savior. Baptist Builders coordinated over 500 volunteers in this process. We began breaking ground in March 2007, and have been holding services in this building since January 2008.
Not only have we received a building, but we have received a new vision in our outreach missions. Through this experience our church family has grown closer to one another as well as to God. We have participated in 6 building team trips as well as heading a project in our own community. We are coordinating with Baptist Builders and sister churches to rebuild a house in Madison County. The spiritual growth that has taken place is hard to measure, but as the Pastor I assure you it is a blessing to witness.
Many pastors and church members from all around had many reservations and warnings to share with me when we were in the planning stages. They shared that a building program was the hardest thing for a church to go through and talked very negatively about building. I thank God that He talked louder than they, and we continued moving forward. Many times churches put off building programs until the "fire" is about to go out, and then it is too late. Baptist Builders helps churches that are not financially strong to step aside and allow FAITH in GOD to overcome all barriers. (We began the process with $5000.00 in our building fund).
Pray that God would open the doors for volunteers to help in any project you are thinking about. GOD will use Baptist Builders to bless your church family. People want to help, so let them. "
Bill VanWinkle, Pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Irvine:
"Words cannot express my gratitude for John Edwards and the team he put together to come and help us on our church. All I can say, is that they were an answer to prayer. John is a proven leader, a man who knows how to bring others together to make a difference. Add to that, his overall knowledge of the construction business, and you have what every church, that is in a building project is looking for. It's obvious that God has His hand on John, and that He has gifted him to do the job he is doing. For any pastor who is leading his church to build, I cannot recommend highly enough, John and his team."
