Paul Chitwood Elected IMB Chairman

LOUISVILLE – A Kentucky Baptist pastor and former KBC president was elected chairman of the International Mission Board at their most recent meeting, held April 7-9 in Dallas, Texas.

Paul Chitwood, pastor of Mount Washington First Baptist Church and KBC president 2005-2006, was elected to the post by acclamation. He will take office later this year following the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting, scheduled for June 10 - 11 in Indianapolis.

IMB trustees also elected first vice chairman, Simon Tsoi of Phoenix, Ariz.; second vice chairman, Mike Smith of Jacksonville, Texas; secretary, Debbie Brunson of Jacksonville, Fla.
